This is the perfect recipe for a busy weeknight - it's easy to prep and turns out so hearty and flavorful! There are only 4 ingredients, but you can easily modify this recipe and make it your own.
Ingredients:
1 lb. of mild Italian sausage
24 oz. of jarred Italian marinara sauce
2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
20 oz. bag of frozen cheese raviolis
Instructions:
Brown sausage in a medium saucepan, using your spatula to break the sausage into crumbles as it cooks. Once cooked, strain, and set meat aside.
Lightly coat your crockpot basin with olive oil cooking spray.
Pour in half of your jarred sauce then add half the cooked sausage.
Next layer in half of the frozen raviolis, and cover with 1 cup of shredded mozzarella.
Repeat steps 3 and 4, using the remaining portions of each ingredient.
If you want, you can also add additional cheeses, herbs, and seasonings at this time.
Cook covered, on low for 3.5 hours. Stir before serving.
Garnish with grated Italian cheese and fresh basil. Pairs great with a fresh salad and bread.
