I have tried other meatloaf recipes, but my mom's secret ingredient always makes the best meatloaf. The trick is BBQ sauce, it adds the perfect tangy flavor to the meatloaf!
Ingredients
1 lb. package of ground beef
3 tablespoons of BBQ sauce (I always use Sweet Baby Ray's)
1 egg
1 cup of breadcrumbs
1 tbsp. of parsley
Salt and Pepper to taste
1 tbsp. of Gravy Master
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.
Coat the bottom of a baking pan with a little olive oil to prevent sticking (I always use a paper towel to spread a thin layer around without making a mess).
In a large mixing bowl, combine all of your ingredients, except for the Gravy Master.
Mix until all ingredients are evenly blended.
Once your ingredients are blended form into the shape of a loaf and place into your baking pan.
Add a little bit of water to your pan (enough to be about 1/4 inch full).
Add your Gravy Master to the top of the meatloaf and spread around evenly.
Cover and cook for 30 minutes.
Uncover, baste, and cook for an additional 15 minutes (uncovered).
Once you are done cooking, remove from oven and let the meatloaf rest for about 3 minutes before slicing and serving!
If you have the time, this goes great with mac 'n' cheese, mashed potatoes, and my Slow Cooked Green Beans recipe - but if you are in a rush on a weeknight, I love to add the canned whole potatoes and carrots!
